Tammy and I in Estella Spain on the Camino de Santiago

Thanks for stopping by.  If you’re like me when I visit a blog I like to check out the author page.  You know, try to figure out what this guy or girl’s story is.  I find the story of people’s lives fascinating.  Here are a few highlights from my story thus far:

  • I’m a 54 year old father of three and husband of one.  I became a Christian when I was 9 years old during the tail end of the Jesus Movement and have been trying to out how this thing called “church” is supposed to work ever since.

  • My life in ministry started in 1989 when I took the money I had saved to move to Los Angeles and become an actor, and used it instead to do a Discipleship

Finishing England’s Coast to Coast Walk with son Gabriel

Training School with Youth With A Mission in Australia.

  • In the early 1990s I made over 200 trips into China delivering Bibles and supporting Christians there

  • I’ve  planted and pastored churches in both the U.S. and Hong Kong

  • I have a B.A. in English and Ancient History from the University of South Africa, a Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado, and a PGCE (Education) from the University of Sunderland

  • In 2004 I was a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives 2nd Colorado District.  Won the nomination…lost the election.

  • In summer 2012 I fulfilled a dream by completing the Wainwright Coast to Coast hike in England with my 14 year old son Gabriel.  2 weeks of father / son time any father could only hope and wish for.  We walked 14 days straight  over 200 miles through some of the most beautiful country God ever created.

Tammy, Steve, Almond, and Ethan George on the Camino de Santiago

  • In spring of 2015 I followed up the Coast to Coast walk by embarking on the 800 km (500 mile) Camino de Santiago in northern Spain.  My son and I walked the ancient Way of St. James from the French border to the cathedral in Santiago.

  • In spring of 2017 I went back to Spain to again walk the Camino de Santiago but this time brought Tammy, my daughter Almond, and my 6 year old Ethan George.  (My parents even joined as well)

  • In the summer of 2018 I walked for 71 days straight from the Cathedral in Canterbury, England to the Vatican in Rome on the Via Francigena pilgrimage.  Over 1,100 miles through France, over the Alps in Switzerland, and into Italy through Tuscany to Rome

  • Arriving in Rome on the Via Francigena pilgrimage

  • Have been in love with my wife Tammy pretty much since I first laid eyes on her 30 years ago

  • When I’m not working I’m usually watching a film, writing a book, or down at the pub with friends discussing the answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything.  (Which is, of course, “42”)

  • Peace,

Steve
