Tammy and Martin duel before the podcast!

Steve & Tammy “geek” out with Martin Daniel as they talk all things Star Wars; from childhood memories to The Force Awakens!

If you were like us you were waiting with a lot of anticipation for the recent Star Was movie The Force Awkens.  But mixed with that anticipation was some trepidation.  Was JJ Abrams, the new custodian of the Star Wars franchise,  going to recapture the magic of the original trilogy, or was it going to be a dud and stink as bad as George Lucus’ follow up trilogy?  Or even worse, instead of just introducing a forgettable character like Jar Jar Binks, would Abrams ruin the childhood  images of our heroes Luke Skywalker and Han Solo,?

To help answer these and other pressing Star War related questions I knew I was going to need help.  I mean. Tammy likes Star Wars.  Heck, she bought our tickets for our family a 2 wks before the release here in Hong Kong.  But I didn’t feel Tammy, had the “geek” credentials needed to really take this episode where it needed to go.  So I went to my friend Martin.  Martin Daniel is a neighbor who I first met at a pub quiz night.  Our two two teams tied in points and so there was going to be a final question with a single representative from each team. When the quizmaster said the tie breaker question would be a sci –fi movie question well,   Martin’s team chose him and my team chose me.  Honestly, I can’t remember what the question was, but I remember Martin beat me by a fraction of a seconIMG_2988d.  Yeah, the game was lost…But a friendship was won.

I knew Martin was the right guy to talk Star Wars with when he showed up at my door for the podcast sporting 2 lightsabers…  Tammy and I had a great discussion with Martin about the Star Wars of our childhood all the way through to the present movie.

One thing though, major spoilers on the new movie.  Let’s face it, this podcast is going live with this episode airing more than a month after the release.  If Star Wars plot points were important to you, you would have seen the movie already.  But just a head’s up…

So join us on the trail as we go Beyond the Pale with Martin Daniel and Star Wars
