Weekend Update: “Happy” in Hong Kong

This week’s off topic “Weekend Update” is a great video clip that has been shared by a number of friends here in Hong Kong.  It’s a cover of the popular Pharrell Williams song and video, “Happy”.  In it people just express their happiness as they dance, sing, and smile around various locations in Hong Kong.

Maybe it’s because I love this city so much or maybe it’s because I can’t get this catchy little tune out of my head but I thought I would share it with the Beyond the Pale audience.

The lyrics just put a smile on my face:

“Happy”

[Verse 1:]
It might seem crazy what I’m about to say
Sunshine she’s here, you can take a break
I’m a hot air balloon that could go to space
With the air, like I don’t care baby by the way

[Hook:]
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like that’s what you wanna do

[Verse 2:]
Here come bad news talking this and that
Yeah, give me all you got, don’t hold back
Yeah, well I should probably warn you I’ll be just fine
Yeah, no offense to you don’t waste your time
Here’s why

Happy, come on, bring me down
Happy, come on, bring me down
Love is too happy to bring me down
Come on, bring me down
I said bring me down
Come on, bring me down
Love is too happy to bring me down
Come on, bring me down
I said

Bring me down… can’t nothing…
Bring me down… your love is too high…
Bring me down… can’t nothing…
Bring me down, I said (let me tell you now)

And of course the original video with Pharrell Williams. Enjoy!

The U.S. use to be a happy place to live in. But now since all of our Job are over seas ,you go up and down the east coast you see little ghost towns with no jobs in them. Thanks to our politicians we will be soon a third war Country!
