Episode 001: Broken Liturgy with John Hardt
Theologian and musician John Hardt discusses life, liturgy, doubt, and inviting people into dark places
A couple year’s ago I was in Belfast attending Peter Rollin’s Holy Ghosts event which was one of the coolest workshop’s I ever attended. In fact I only call it a workshop because I don’t know what else to call spending 5 day’s with 40 people going from pub to pub listening to speakers engage us on theology, politics, Christianity, filmmaking, music, poetry and storytelling, topped with a lot of Guinness and Irish Whiskey. Needless to say, I found “my tribe” and met some new friends. Today’s guest is one of those friends.
John Hardt is a fascinating guy with a great story. He’s an accomplished musician, a pastor, but currently teaches at an International school in Beijing China. John is an all round cool guy and I know you’re going to like what he has to say. In an attempt to get a break from the smog and cold up there he popped down to Hong Kong to see me for a weekend and we were able to record a conversation. Tammy couldn’t make it this time as she had to work so it was just John and I…the guys. So join me on the trail as we go Beyond the Pale with John Hardt
