Hi Pilgrim,

Welcome to episode 24 of Beyond the Pale.  The podcast where we jump the fence of controlled areas of marcchrisChristianity and culture and take you on a pilgrimage into a deeper faith and better life.  A place where we ask a lot of questions…and question a lot of answers.

On today’s show Tammy and I have some of our closest friends join us.  Mark & Christine Cattanach are from the U.K. but have come to visit us here in Hong Kong where we first met them more than 20 years ago.  Mark & Christine have a great story how they came to a faith in God and I knew I couldn’t let their visit go without sitting down with them for a podcast episode to which Christine replied “but we still go to church”

When I asked what she meant she simply replied that she listened to most of our previous podcast and we seemed to highlight folk that didn’t go to church anymore.  “That’s not true I said, many of our guests such as Brendan Gill, Tom Read, Dave Griffiths, and Matt Baca are regular church goers.  “But, if you feel that way, all the more reason to podcast you guys” I said, “We need diversity, In fact that’s what we’ll call the episode “…but we still go to church”

I think you’ll hear the great time Mark, Christine, Tammy and I had sharing stories and laughs and I’m sure the deep friendship we have comes through.  I mean this is the couple that 4 years ago drove Gabriel and I 5 hours to the north of England to launch us out on Father-son 200 mile Coast to Coast walk.  I remember Christine saying at the time we needed a proper send off.  Yes, they are that good of friends…

Also Mark & Christine’s story has taken them to a place no one would ever want to go. Their pilgrimage is not only inspiring it’s also one of hope through tragedy as they share how their faith and the love of those around them helped them recover after the loss of their first child.

But there are a lot of laughs on their journey as well and I think you’ll agree the Irish whiskey that Mark brought over from the UK helped the storytelling a bit in today’s episode.

Peace,

Steve & Tammysoundcloud-logo-300x112
