Episode 027: Sometimes God Just Breaks His Own Rules with Giles Parker Pt.1

Show Notes
Intro Theme: Tyler Bates Ventura
Featured Music: 4 Non Blondes What’s Up
Tammy and I talk with former pastor Giles Parker about his journey to a more progressive C
hristianity, how the church should operate in the world, and why sometimes God just seems to break his own rules.
A journey that has seen him embrace a more progressive Christianity without jettisoning the aspects of his faith that got him to where he is now. In the words of Richard Rohr, Giles has been able to “include and transcend”
I met Giles a couple years back when I attended the Pete Rollin’s event he’s been holding in his native Belfast the last few years. We bonded over faith, doubt, and whiskey and have been friends ever since. We even reconnected last summer as he joined me for a couple days as I walked England’s Coast to Coast hike.
I know Giles story will be inspiring to you on your own faith journey!
Peace,
Steve
